Disney Vacation Scam Alert!! Thu, 11 Mar 2010 Readers of WDW Daily News: I wanted to alert all of you about something one of our followers alerted me of.  It was in regards to a potential scam operation by someone claiming to be offering a free Disney vacation.  Here is what our reader sent me about the scam, so please read and make sure all of your friends are aware of this and please never give out your credit card numbers. “I just received a call from a gentlemen claiming to be in Florida, saying that I had won a contest winning a free vacation at Walt Disney World resorts in Orlando Florida (airfare not included).  He had my name, date of birth and address and claimed I entered the contest on March 10, 2010 at approximately 1:35 pm. I have no memory of ever entering such a contest. Although the resort nights are free, there is a one time registration fee of $249.00 per person.  Then, he switched me over to some woman asked me for my credit card number over the phone.  At this point I hung up.
